THE 10-SERIES: Ten Sessions of Structural Integration
The 10-Series serves as a strategic and systematic approach to integrate your nervous system, using sensorimotor interventions to balance and refine your brain’s cortical maps, producing greater alignment and optimization of both the structure (shape) and function (movement) of your body.
Each session builds upon your last and prepares you for the next, organized in three sections:
The Surface Sessions (Sessions 1-3) serve to educate yourself about how to notice tension and restrictions at the superficial layers of the body and how to release patterns creating posture and movement limitations.
Session 1: Your Breath – the anatomy of your respiratory diaphragm
Session 2: Your Roots – the anatomy of your feet
Session 3: Your Space – the anatomy of your appendages
The Core Sessions (Sessions 4-7) serve to alleviate deeper tension and restrictions that traverse and impact territories within your body, particularly along the spine, that obstruct optimal function within your structure.
Session 4: Your Midline – the anatomy below your spine
Session 5: Your Forebody – the anatomy around your anterior spine
Session 6: Your Hindbody – the anatomy around your posterior spine
Session 7: Your Crown – the anatomy above your spine
The Integration Sessions (Sessions 8-10) serve as an opportunity to fine tune your mind within your body in order to achieve postural adaptability, mindful resiliency, and a connection to your natural integrity.
Session 8: Your Body – the anatomy of your lower or upper body, usually
Session 9: Your Mind – the anatomy of your lower or upper body, usually opposite of prior session
Session 10: Your Self – the anatomy of your whole body
There is a standard anatomical territory for each session; however, no two sessions are alike, due to the distinct physicality of every human being. Each session and series is as unique as the person within it.
WHAT 10-SERIES IS BEST FOR YOU?
At Upper Valley Integration Therapy, we offer two versions of the 10-Series:
The Rolfing® 10-Series serves clients who wish to receive therapeutic bodywork without educational conversation, within 2-hour sessions.
The Yoga Sparśa® 10-Series serves clients who wish to receive therapeutic bodywork and a comprehensive education on principles of healing, health, and well-being, within 3-hour sessions.
In either format, a 10-Series serves as a once-in-a-lifetime journey of therapeutic integration.
The Rolfing® 10-Series
The Rolfing® 10-Series is ten sessions of strategic sensorimotor rehabilitation and refinement.
The purpose of the 10-Series is to resolve habituated patterns of tension within your body, which will improve your sensory awareness and mobility.
It serves to help you manifest your intentions for healing, health, and well-being, as you work to reclaim true ownership in your practice of personal health care.
Essentially, the Rolfing® 10-Series is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to refine the cortical maps in your brain, enlivening your somatosensory cortex and refining your motor cortex, in order to liberate yourself from physical tension and have greater peace of mind within your daily life.
The Yoga Sparśa® 10-Series
The Yoga Sparśa® 10-Series is ten sessions of strategic sensorimotor rehabilitation and refinement with an education that incorporates principles of neurobiology into yogic philosophy.
The purpose of the 10-Series is to empower you through a comprehensive educational experience in mindful embodiment, in order to resolve habituated patterns of tension and teach you how to do so on your own.
In other words, it’s an opportunity for you to learn about being the best version of yourself through:
The science of healing, health, and well-being
How your nervous system integrates sensation, cognition, and emotion
How your habits contribute to your sense of self
How your perceptions influence your experience of the world
How to practice mindful embodiment (i.e. how to use sensory experiences to change your habits of perception (and vice versa) in order to transform your habits of movement)
Together, you will work to manifest your intentions for healing, health, and well-being, empowered by educational and experiential components of our sessions, as you learn to reclaim true ownership in your practice of personal health care.
Essentially, the Yoga Sparśa® 10-Series serves as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a self-invitation to embrace a whole new relationship with your body and mind.
And upon completion, you’ll gain a profound sense of the truth within the phrase: “Nobody can do it for you, and you cannot do it alone.”
SHORTER SERIES: 3-Series & 7-Series
Here are two abbreviated series that may serve clients who are:
new to Structural Integration and curious about the progressive effects of the work, or
veterans of Structural Integration who would like a “tune-up” series
THE SURFACE SERIES (3-Series)
The Surface Sessions is a series of three sessions of sensorimotor therapy designed to reduce peripheral tension within your nervous system.
In three sessions, our work serves to resolve habituated patterns of tension in your appendages.
Note: The resolution of tension within more interior structures (i.e. your torso) is best addressed within the context of a 7-Series or 10-Series.
THE CORE SERIES (7-Series)
The Core Series is a series of seven sessions of sensorimotor therapy designed to reduce interior tension within your nervous system.
In seven sessions, our work serves to resolve habituated patterns of tension in your appendages and your torso.
Note: The integration of your entire body is best addressed within the context of a 10-Series.
SCHEDULE: What is the best schedule for my 10-Series?
A 10-Series is all about generating momentum to invite the best opportunity possible for transformation. It is a strategic and systematic approach to “deep cleaning” your body and mind for optimal vitality, as we recondition your neuromusculoskeletal system via a strategic, systematic, step-by-step, progressive process, in which each session builds upon the last and prepares for the next.
Naturally, clients benefit most when they enroll in sessions on a routine basis.
Ideal: one session per week
Accelerated: one session every 3-5 days
Extended: bi-weekly sessions
Consistency is critical. All learning requires consistent repetition, and reconditioning your neuromusculoskeletal system is no different.
The 10-Series is a learning process, as we disrupt your sensorimotor and behavioral habits and build momentum for you to achieve the transformation you seek for healing, health, and well-being.
Essentially, it’s important that you give yourself the appropriate time and space and input necessary to invite healthful integration between sessions, as your brain creates a new sense of normal for you.
PAYMENT: What is the payment structure for my 10-Series?
I require an upfront deposit of the full amount for a 10-Series program.

The purpose of a 10-Series is to build momentum for self-transformation. All learning requires consistent repetition, and reconditioning your neuromusculoskeletal system is no different. The 10-Series is a learning process, as we disrupt your sensorimotor and behavioral habits for you to achieve the transformation you seek for healing, health, and well-being.
It requires me to reserve time and availability for you in my schedule. My time is set aside solely for you, and I have made myself available to you for our work together on a regular basis according to your requested time. I am not able to best support your healing and growth if you are unable to commit yourself to a consistent schedule of sessions.
I am happy to make individual bookings if you are not yet ready for the commitment of a 10-Series. These sessions will not follow the strategy of the 10-Series and should be thought of more as targeted interventions, but can help you better understand my approach and what type of value it can yield in your life.
POST-SERIES: What happens after my 10-Series?
A 10-Series is meant to serve as a comprehensive education in human adaptability and resiliency that unites the 'mind within your body' to your inner sense of integrity; so ideally, after ten sessions, you won’t feel the need for more appointments with me.
The reality, however, is integration never ends. There’s always more work to be done (as I’ve learned both personally and professionally). Therefore, what happens after a 10-Series depends on how far down the proverbial ‘rabbit hole’ you’re inspired to go.
Even so, once you’ve completed the a 10-Series with me, I recommend that you give yourself some time for our work to settle and integrate before your next session, or series. Our work together will have changed your body’s course of development by conditioning your nervous system to shift intentionally into a greater state of harmony whenever it has a chance. The momentum you’ve gained will continue along your new course toward a new destiny, unless an accident intervenes or you stop listening to your body.
